Position Summary

The Branding Manager oversees the visual identity and voice of Shall See Theater, crafting a coherent, memorable brand that supports our East Asian aesthetics and storytelling mission. They will work cross-functionally to create marketing assets, maintain brand standards, and ensure every touchpoint, from promotional materials to social media, reflects our institutional vision at a high and professional level.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Visual Identity

  • Define and evolve Shall See’s brand guidelines, such as logo usage, color palette, type, tone, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. 

  • Work with the Director of Marketing to integrate brand goals into programmatic and seasonal strategies. 

Creative Asset Development

  • Oversee creation of promotional materials: posters, trailers, audience guides, playbills, email banners, and web graphics. 

  • Collaborate with designers, videographers, and printers to produce assets on brief, on time, and on budget. 

  • Work closely with Shall See’s PR firm and/or team to align promotional visuals and messaging with media strategy and public-facing campaigns

Cross-Departmental Branding Consistency

  • Partner with Artistic, Education, and Community Engagement teams to ensure all collateral aligns with brand standards.

  • Review all internal and external communications (press releases, digital ads, newsletters) to maintain brand integrity.

Digital & Social Branding

  • Monitor and guide the execution of digital assets, including web visuals, social media templates, and email headers, for brand cohesion. 

  • Advise on content formats and branding best practices to enhance digital storytelling.

Brand Monitoring & Optimization

  • Track brand awareness metrics (surveys, engagement, press mentions) and advise on refinements. 

  • Conduct audits of current materials and recommend design, messaging, or tone updates. 

Vendor & Asset Management

  • Manage relationships with external creative agencies, printers, and freelance artists

  • Oversee budgets and timelines for all brand-related project work. 

Brand Training & Oversight

  • Educate staff and partners on brand usage, prepare brand guideline materials and facilitate training sessions. 

  • Serve as brand steward, approving new materials to ensure consistency.

  • 统筹宣传素材的开发,如海报、预告片、观众导览手册、节目单、电子邮件横幅、网页图形等。

  • 与设计师、视频团队及印刷供应商协作,确保交付物符合品牌调性、按时并在预算内完成。

  • 与 Shall See 的公关公司或公关团队密切合作,确保宣传图像与媒体战略及公共传播一致。

跨部门品牌一致性

  • 与艺术、教育、社区参与等团队协作,确保所有外部材料(包括对外传播物)符合品牌标准。

  • 审核所有内部和外部沟通材料(新闻稿、数字广告、电子报等),维护品牌完整性。

数字与社交品牌呈现

  • 指导网页图像、社交媒体模板、电邮视觉等数字资产的统一化执行。

  • 就内容格式、数字讲故事的品牌呈现方式提供建议与规范。

品牌监测与优化

  • 跟踪品牌认知相关指标(如观众调查、互动数据、媒体报道等),提出品牌优化建议。

  • 审核现有材料,提出在设计、信息传达、品牌语调上的更新建议。

供应商与资产管理

  • 管理与外部创意公司、印刷厂及自由艺术家的合作关系。

  • 管控品牌相关项目的预算与执行时间表。

品牌培训与监管

  • 为员工与合作伙伴提供品牌使用培训,制作品牌手册与培训材料。

  • 担任品牌监管人,对所有新材料进行最终审核与批准,确保统一性。

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.

  • 1-3 years of branding or visual identity experience in nonprofit arts companies and/or projects. Education context also counts. 

  • Expertise in shaping and enforcing brand guidelines across print and digital channels.

  • Excellent taste and deep understanding of the NYC theater scene. 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to guide cross-functional teams on creative consistency.

  • Some hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and an eye for design fundamentals.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing concurrent projects with competing deadlines.

  • Deep appreciation for theater storytelling, East Asian cultural context, and creative excellence

  • 具备中英文双语流利沟通能力。

  • 拥有 1–3 年数字营销或战略推广经验,优先考虑非营利或表演艺术行业背景者;教育类经验亦可计入。

  • 拥有 1–3 年非营利艺术组织或相关项目中品牌建设与视觉识别经验(教育背景也可计入)。

  • 擅长制定和维护品牌规范,能覆盖印刷及数字传播渠道。

  • 具备良好审美,对纽约剧场文化与观众品味有深入理解。

  • 沟通与协作能力强,能有效引导跨部门团队确保创意统一性。

  • 熟练使用 Adobe Creative Suite(如 InDesign、Photoshop、Illustrator)者优先,具基本设计审美与技巧。

  • 工作有条理、细致,并能同时管理多个时间紧迫的项目。

  • 热爱戏剧叙事,具备对东亚文化语境和创意卓越的高度认同。
