Position Summary

Lead Shall See Theater’s integrated marketing efforts to maximize awareness, audience engagement, and ticket revenue. Create and execute multi-channel campaigns, from digital and print advertising to social media, email, and community partnerships, structured to reflect the caliber of Shall See’s marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

​​Strategic Marketing, Campaigns & Sales

  • Develop and implement seasonal marketing and ticketing plans tied to Shall See Theater’s artistic programming and institutional goals. 

  • Craft and execute multi-channel marketing strategies including print, digital, out-of-home (OOH), social media, and email. 

  • Drive ticket sales, coordinate box office strategy, and manage ticketing operations in partnership with General Management. 

  • Execute dynamic sales campaigns, oversee audience conversion strategies, and generate earned revenue through ticketing.

  • Define KPIs and track campaign and ticketing performance across audience segments, online traffic, and sales channels. 

  • Analyze sales trends and audience behavior to inform pricing strategies, discounting, and promotional initiatives. 

  • Sell tickets. 

Brand Development & Communications

  • Shape and refine Shall See Theater’s brand voice and visual identity, aligning with its mission to uplift East Asian narratives and aesthetics. 

  • Oversee the development of marketing assets, including trailers, posters, social graphics, playbills, and audience guides. 

  • Ensure consistent and compelling messaging across owned (website, social media, newsletters) and earned (media/press) channels. 

  • Collaborate with Artistic and Development teams to produce engaging promotional narratives and impact-driven storytelling. 

Digital Strategy & Social Media

  • Lead digital marketing campaigns including content creation, scheduling, web presence, and paid media (Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, etc.).

  • Manage organic content and foster engagement across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.). 

  • Monitor and report on digital metrics including engagement, open/click-through rates, conversion, and paid media performance. 

  • Implement targeted advertising strategies to expand audience reach and cultivate new ticket buyers. 

Audience Engagement & Institutional Programs 

  • Collaborate with the Education and Community Engagement teams to design co-branded programs, promotions, and contextual campaigns. 

  • Build and manage group sales, subscription, and membership initiatives to grow long-term audience loyalty. 

  • Liaise with PR firms and media outlets to secure press coverage, artist features, and reviews that broaden institutional visibility. 

  • Facilitate ticket distribution strategies that prioritize accessibility and community-based outreach. 

Partnership & Outreach 

  • Develop and sustain marketing partnerships with cultural organizations, schools, media outlets, and civic groups. 

  • Coordinate cross-promotions, community-based advertising, and outreach campaigns to engage new and underrepresented audiences. 

  • Represent Shall See Theater at marketing consortiums, industry events, and community programming roundtables. 

  • Identify and build long-term relationships with local and diaspora networks aligned with Shall See’s mission. 

Budgeting, Vendors & Operations

  • Provide the Managing Director with ticket sales projections for upcoming productions to support seasonal planning and financial forecasting. 

  • Assist the Managing Director in developing and managing the annual marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated for media buys, content creation, and technology needs. 

  • Oversee vendor relationships (graphic designers, printers, ad agencies, consultants) and ensure timely delivery of materials. 

  • Coordinate closely with General Management and Box Office to support ticketing infrastructure and platform maintenance. 

Data Analysis & Insight

  • Analyze ticketing, audience, and CRM data (e.g., Tessitura or similar systems) to segment audiences and refine engagement strategies. 

  • Conduct post-campaign analyses to assess ROI, refine future campaigns, and optimize resource allocation. 

  • Prepare reports to the Managing Director for leadership, funders, and the board to measure impact, revenue performance, and strategic outcomes.

  • 监督营销素材的制作,包括宣传片、海报、社交图像、节目单与观众指南等。

  • 确保剧院自有媒体(官网、社交平台、电子报)与外部媒体/新闻渠道传达一致、吸引力强的讯息。

  • 与艺术部门和筹资团队合作,构建富有吸引力的宣传内容与具影响力的叙述方式。

数字策略与社交媒体

  • 主导数字营销活动,包括内容创作、发布时间表、网页更新与付费广告投放(Google Ads、Meta 广告系统等)。

  • 管理社交媒体平台上的内容发布与观众互动(如 Instagram、Facebook、TikTok、YouTube 等)。

  • 追踪并报告数字指标:参与度、点击/打开率、转化率及广告成效。

  • 实施精准广告投放,拓展受众基础,吸引新观众购票。

观众拓展与机构合作项目

  • 与教育及社区参与部门协作,开发联名项目、宣传活动与主题策展内容。

  • 建立与管理团体票销售、订阅制度与会员体系,提升长期观众黏性。

  • 与公关公司及媒体合作,争取艺人专访、媒体曝光与评论报道,扩大机构影响力。

  • 制定票务分发策略,确保渠道多样化并提升社区可达性。

合作伙伴与外联工作

  • 与文化机构、学校、媒体及民间团体建立并维系营销合作关系。

  • 策划联合宣传、社区广告与外联活动,吸引新受众及代表性不足的群体。

  • 代表剧院参与行业联盟、社区圆桌与专业活动。

  • 拓展与剧院使命相契合的本地与侨界网络,建立长期关系。

预算管理、供应商与运营支持

  • 向常务董事提供新演出项目的票房预测,支持季节策划与财务规划。

  • 协助常务董事制定并管理年度市场预算,确保媒体购买、内容制作与技术配置的资金分配合理。

  • 管理设计师、印刷厂、广告代理、公关顾问等外包团队的合同与交付进度。

  • 与总务与票务部门密切协作,支持售票平台维护与运营系统升级。

数据分析与战略洞察

  • 利用 CRM 与票务系统(如 Tessitura、PatronManager 或 Spektrix)分析用户行为,优化受众细分与触达策略。

  • 跟踪并评估市场活动成效,衡量投资回报率,为未来策略提供数据支持。

  • 向常务董事提供报告,用于内部汇报、对外资助申请与董事会展示,衡量营收成效与战略影响。

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.

  • 1-3 years of progressive marketing experience in (nonprofit) performing arts, ideally in NYC theaters. Educational experience and/or productions also count. 

  • Demonstrated success managing ticketing strategies and box office coordination to drive sales and revenue. 

  • Experience with CRM and ticketing platforms such as Tessitura, PatronManager, or Spektrix preferred. 

  • Proficiency in digital social media tools, such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, email platforms, CMS (WordPress, Squarespace), Instagram, and analytics. 

  • Strong creative and copywriting skills with the ability to shape brand tone, messaging, and storytelling. 

  • Data-driven with analytical skills to interpret marketing metrics and inform decisions

  • Excellent project management and communication skills across departments and vendors. 

  • Comfort with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, during production cycles.
